Edmund Meinerts returns to Track Swap. This time, him and Lasse focus on Video Game adaptations based on the works of Tolkien. How do those scores compare to the Howard Shore masterpieces? Tune in and find out!

Edmund Meinerts returns to Track Swap. This time, him and Lasse focus on Video Game adaptations based on the works of Tolkien. How do those scores compare to the Howard Shore masterpieces? Tune in and find out!
On the newest Track Swap Special, Lasse introduces EARTH, the most recent and this time fully electronic album by composer Marcel Barsotti, available for purchase and streaming pretty much everywhere from March 28th on.
This time, the guest on Track Swap is German composer Christoph Zirngibl. The topic of the day: Superheroes! Christoph brought an often overlooked score by a true master, while Lasse took the chance and picked a track by a female composer! Can you guess what their choices are?
Link:
On this year’s first regular episode of Track Swap, Edmund Meinerts joins Lasse as a guest. One of them brought a Video Game Score, while the other chose some music from an 80’s Family Fantasy Film.
Welcome back to Track Swap! Lasse Vogt is counting down his favorite scores of the previous year – nothing more, nothing less! Are some of your favorites among his choices? Were you familiar with all of them or did you discover something new? Tune in, sit back and enjoy some very entertaining recommendations by your friendly neighborhood German Guy!
For the last episode of the year, Jen Wolff joins Track Swap once again! Let us stay within the festive spirit of the holidays and listen to some wonderful seasonal music. We wish you a very Happy and hopefully successful New Year!
Erik Woods returns to Track Swap! Although his pick is definitely christmassey, it is not exactly the kind of music you would want to play while the family is around. But that is the kind of stuff Lasse really enjoys having on the show! Fittingly, his choices are also a little bit unusual, even though they are from a Christmas movie. Sit back, enjoy and Happy Holidays!
Finally, Todd Horan is joining Track Swap. In the second Christmas episode of the season, Todd brings a kinda forgotten 80’s classic to the table, while Lasse’s choice is, again, much more recent.
Brand new guest Shannon Jowett is so lucky to be on the first Christmas Episode of the season. His choices are a little bit unusual, but definitely from a festive film, while Lasse brings something much more traditional, but also very recent to the table.
Brand new guest Tim Halbur joins Track Swap and brings a classic to the show, while Lasse chooses something matching, but much more contemporary.
Another day, another Powell: Josh from Film Score And More returns to Track Swap, this time with a much more recent John Powell score. Lasse brings another great composer with him and presents a score which often seems to get overlooked. Tune in and prepare to be enchanted!
Rob Rawdon returns to Track Swap. We are discussing comedy scores again, although this time, they are not quite as silly. Rob brings the score of a beloved classic, while Lasse’s choice is a much more recent film, although the music is refreshingly oldschool. Listen and have fun!
In the silliest episode so far, Lasse welcomes Cole McLeod back on Track Swap. They both brought scores from pretty goofy comedies and truly hope you like this music just as much as they do. Sit down, listen and have a good laugh!
The great Jen Wolff joins Lasse on the 11th episode of Track Swap. Both of them have brought music from historical drama films based on famous books – coincidence? Let’s find out and join them on their journey… and listen to these amazing tracks, of course!
To close out Halloween Season, The Film Scorer Nick is Lasse’s guest on Track Swap! Nick brought music from a 90’s Horror Classic, while Lasse introduces a piece from a much newer dark fairy tale. Both of them feature choir! Find our more and tune in. Happy Halloween!
Erik Woods returns to Track Swap. This time, him and host Lasse Vogt have two Video Game scores for you – and since it’s Halloween Season, the tracks are appropriately scary… right? Well, we hope that you will find them at the very least entertaining.
On the first special episode of Track Swap, host Lasse Vogt is introducing the symphonic album AMERICANA, composed and orchestrated by Marcel Barsotti and available on pretty much every streaming platform out there. You can purchase it from October 18th, 2021 on – so, basically right now! Don’t hesitate and give it a listen.
Are you ready to be scared? Then look no further, because Track Swap has got you covered! Rob Rawdon returns to the show to kick off the Halloween season. He has brought a truly terrifying score with him and Lasse tries his best to compete. Take a listen… if you dare!
After some delays, Erik Woods from The Cinematic Sound Radio Podcast finally joins Lasse as a guest on Track Swap. Brace yourselves, since this music will probably make you cry. One movie is about a terribly tragic true story, the other is a coming-of-age adventure about friendship. Big thanks to these talented composers, who delivered absolutely wonderful scores.
What happens when guest Cole McLeod brings the score of a Spaghetti Western and host Lasse Vogt chooses the music of an Oddball-Fantasy-Action-Horror Comedy? Easy: Fun happens! Join us and listen to Track Swap: Episode 6!
Rob Rawdon is Lasse’s guest on Track Swap this time. Beware, because this is an episode with quite emotional music. Today’s movies are about a dying vampire and the dark adventures of puppets. Ready to be moved? Then join us and listen.
Jamie from Radio Free Endor and GhostheadsUK joins Lasse on the fifth episode of Track Swap. Today, things get mysterious and even a little spooky, as they talk about fairies and ghosts, which are also featured in the scores they picked! Sit back and listen . . . if you dare!
This time, Josh from Film Score And More is Lasse’s guest on Track Swap. Both of their tracks have a lot in common: huge orchestrations, a ton of fun… and flying! Wanna figure out which scores they belong to? Then join the two and listen!
https://www.youtube.com/c/FilmScoreandMore
Austin Shinn joins host Lasse Vogt for the second episode of Track Swap! This time, the subject matter is scores for comic book movies, one from America and one from France. What do they have in common besides great music? Superpowers…
Welcome to Episode 1 of our brand new show, Track Swap! In this series, your host Lasse Vogt will be joined by a new co-host each and every episode. The premise is simple: Each host shares a maximum of two tracks with the other host, and both talk about them at length. In this pilot episode, Lasse is joined by Sideshow co-founder Will Dodson. Sit back, relax, and enjoy this new series, hosted by your favourite neighborhood German guy!

Welcome to Sideshow Sound Radio’s tribute to and celebration of the life of Ian Crabb.
Will and Todd showcase a compilation of many of Ian’s greatest moments at Sideshow including many laughs, fond memories, great music, and words of remembrance from our friends, colleagues, and dear listeners.
Ian always worked harder for our podcast than anyone, especially at a time when the rest of us couldn’t give our time so freely. There wasn’t a week that went by when Ian didn’t have some amaaazing new idea or content for the podcast, whether it was an episode of his shows, In Defence Of, and Sideshow & Tell, or one of his many interviews with top composers in the industry. All this work took a lot of time to set up behind the scenes, copious amounts of research, and more time than many of us could manage, even on our best day. He was a gifted podcaster and interviewer that will be sorely missed and forever remembered.
Among his many talents, Ian had a vast knowledge of cinema that brought an element to the show we were missing, along with a dose of humour and interview style our listeners adored. We experienced a boost in listenership thanks to Ian’s personality, voiceovers, skits, shows, and interviews, and we know he befriended and spoke to many of you on a regular basis.
Thank you so much for all the love and kind comments we’ve received about Ian since his passing. Your support means a lot at this difficult time. Given Ian’s tireless commitment to our podcast network over the years, he deserves a huge send-off!
Join us as we gather to remember, Ian Crabb.
Yesterday, our friend Ian Crabb was laid to rest in Bournemouth. In honor of him, we want to present you with his favorite episode of In Defence Of, a show he proudly hosted with distinction on our network, from 2015 to 2017. That episode was Alien 3, a film Ian felt very strongly was unfairly maligned.
In many ways, this episode was the epitome of what Ian had always hoped IDO would be – a film that divided people being discussed in engaging, thoughtful ways. It was also a thrill for him to cohost alongside Erik Woods, who joined us on this episode. As we prepare for his celebration episode, to be released later this week, we hope you’ll join us in remembrance of Ian, as we revisit his favorite episode of In Defence Of.
Deets and Jen welcome you all to episode 29 of Sideshow Sound Radio!

Welcome to the desert of the real! In celebration of it’s 20th anniversary, for their 32nd Score Guide, Will & Wend shall be tumbling down the rabbit hole to discuss the highly original, postmodern score to The Wachowskis‘ 1999 sci-fi action-adventure, The Matrix, composed, orchestrated and conducted by marvellous composer, Don Davis.
Through the inventive approach of postmodern techniques, the composer employs atonality, dissonance, ostinatos and minimalist techniques to achieve a sound wholly original, for 90s action scores in particular. If the power of The Hollywood Studio Symphony, a 40-piece choir and boy soprano Theo Lebow weren’t enough, the soundtrack also features a collection of songs chosen by the directors that are almost equally well-loved in-context and we shall dive into some of these also, at the end of the show.
Sit back, relax and enjoy the flight as your hosts fling back the composer’s curtain to uncover all the shining musical moments that make this film score one of their faves of the last twenty years, guiding you through the soundtrack release track-by-track!
Cookies baked, spoons at the ready, let’s enter The Matrix!

It’s time to eat some bugs, kiss some frogs and follow the bouncing butt!
Welcome everyone to the newest instalment of Ian’s exclusive interview series, where your host, Ian Crabb, is very fortunate to talk with the brilliant film and television composer, Jared Faber.
Jared chats about his background in music, how he got into composing, working his way from oodles of animated kids shows to some of the most highly popular and respected sitcoms on TV such as the fantastic new show, Splitting Up Together and a whole lot more! Enjoy!
My dearest listeners, friends, colleagues, family and supporters of the Sideshow network, I wanted to address you first hand on something that has happened recently. You may have noticed my output of interview shows has slowed to a near crawl lately, and out of respect you deserve to know why.
Lately I have been in and out of hospital with varying degrees of abdominal pain and problems. After undergoing numerous tests and nearly every procedure in the book, I was admitted as the medical staff and consultants were extremely concerned. Within three days, the problem was found:
Day 1: Severe liver problems.
Day 2: Diagnosed with cancer of the liver.
Day 3: Cancer confirmed as “untreatable”, and therefore “terminal”.
I hate to be this blunt, but you all deserve to know the truth.
After deciding there was little more they could do for me, I am home now and resting as best I can, with a terrific support system from the local GP system, District Nurses, and the hospital.
Statistically speaking, the endgame of this is pretty clear, it’s just a case of how long. However, I am maintaining a positive state of mind and not giving up, thanks mainly in part to the wonderful people (especially Will Dodson) at Sideshow).
It goes without saying that, effective immediately, I am stepping away from Sideshow. I just didn’t want to vanish and you guys think there’d been some rift between the team.
God willing, I shall overcome and be back annoying your ears before you know it. But in the case I’m wrong I wanted to thank some people:
All the agents who helped me set up some truly outstanding guests. The guests themselves for giving this idiot the time of day. All of the team at Sideshow for being the nicest people you could hope to know and work with. And especially Will Dodson and Wendell Jones for taking a chance on me and giving me a platform.
But the biggest thanks goes to you, the dear listener, for all your support over the years.
So there you have it. It’s been a blast!
Yours,
Ian Crabb
